Frequently Asked Questions

Add your eave length and any rake length that needs starter strips. Add the waste allowance, divide by the product's linear-foot coverage per bundle, and round up to a whole bundle.
Many roofing systems use starter strips along rake edges as well as eaves. Include the rake length when your product instructions call for it; otherwise enter 0.
Coverage varies by product and exposure. The 100 linear feet per bundle default is only a starting point, so replace it with the number printed on your package.
Ten percent is a useful starting point for a straight run. Add more for lots of corners, short runs, or extra cutting, and follow the overlap listed by the manufacturer.
Turn on Include material cost and enter the current price per bundle. The calculator multiplies that price by the bundles to buy. Sales tax and delivery are not included.
